Flo Vuong is an entrepreneur who came to Web3 through art and stayed for the community. With a background spanning e-commerce, artist management, and marketing, she has built a career out of spotting emerging opportunities before they become obvious and is now creating merch and community that makes others want to stay around.
In 2024, she became COO of Chipped, a role that broadened her perspective on who is actually building in Web3 and what they genuinely need. What she found was a gap: between the use cases being built and the people those use cases were supposed to serve. That realisation set her on a new path.
In November 2025, she launched two businesses simultaneously: OriginalCopy, a merch studio, and Babes net, a fast-growing community for women in Web3. Both come from the same belief that the space works better when more people feel welcome in it, and that building infrastructure for belonging is just as valuable as building technical infrastructure.
How did you get started in the Web3 space?
In 2021, during the NFT boom. I was doing photocollages on Instagram and my friend Winny mentioned I should look into NFTs. The technology and its possibilities piqued my interest, and I just started diving into Web3 from there.
What motivated you to move into Web3?
I’m an entrepreneur, so any emerging technology naturally gets me excited. The Web3 community was also really strong in Dubai at the time, so it felt like a very natural move once I started attending events and making friends.
How do you define Web3?
I come from e-commerce and marketing, so I’m very much a business girlie! To me, Web3 is about how the underlying technology is built: the transparency, immediacy, and decentralisation, but I also believe the tech should feel seamless for the end user.
People use the internet and banking systems every day without knowing how they work, and Web3 should be the same if we want real mass adoption. To me, Web3 is a layer of tech.
Web3 Growth: Opportunities and Challenges
What are the biggest societal opportunities Web3 brings?
Accessibility and self-custody for people who cannot trust their governments or systems. It opens up real opportunities for people who don’t have access to traditional capital, especially younger entrepreneurs in the age of AI. We’re about to see incredible innovations because Web3 and AI enable access immediately and at a fraction of the cost.
What is the biggest challenge the Web3 community faces?
Losing the revolutionary spirit that made this space so special in the first place, and ending up building only for existing infrastructure like banking systems and governments. Finding the balance between innovation and compliance for mass adoption is one of the biggest tensions we face right now.
What are some career highlights from your Web3 journey?
The biggest highlight has been building my own businesses: launching OriginalCopy, my merch studio, and Babes net, our community for women in Web3. Those two feel like every skill I’ve ever learnt coming together.
Becoming the COO of Chipped in 2024 was a real turning point that helped get me there. It opened up my perspective on who is actually in this space and what they’re building. As I connected with more projects and especially more women, it became so clear that there’s a gap between real-life use cases and what people actually need and want. That realisation is really what pushed me to create something of my own.
What’s coming up in 2026?
Both OriginalCopy and Babes net launched in November 2025, so 2026 is all about building a solid foundation for both to grow.
For OriginalCopy, I’m very much a systems and operations person, so my priority is automating as much as possible so we can stay focused on delivering quality products.
For Babes net, we’re looking forward to deepening our connections with the community and continuing to bring amazing opportunities and experiences to our members. And I’m especially excited about creating more merch for Babes net. It sits right at the intersection of both worlds.
What inspires you to stay motivated professionally?
I do it for the love of the game.
I’ve had my own business for six years now and tried so many different things, from e-commerce to artist management, and now this. It’s just incredible to keep learning and growing.
There’s always something new around the corner and endless opportunities for growth.
The most beautiful moment is when you realise a skill you picked up ten years ago suddenly makes perfect sense for what you’re building today. I get to meet such incredible builders and thinkers, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
When not working, where would we find you?
They call me the Queen of Side Quests. I love trying new experiences and I’ll say yes to almost anything just to try it once.
Last year I randomly agreed to run a half marathon in Albania with a friend, and ended up as a choir girl in a rock band for a gig in Buenos Aires.
The only place you probably won’t find me is on a hiking trail, if I have any say in it.
Women in Web3: Community. Growth. Getting Started.
What are benefits for women in Web3?
Being a woman in Web3 is genuinely amazing.
The friendships we build are really strong and everyone is always sharing opportunities with each other.
It’s not always easy being a woman in a male-dominated field, especially one where we travel non-stop, but Web3 is such a welcoming space. Every day we see more women coming on board. It’s such an exciting time to build your network.
At Babes net, we’re working to spotlight women’s opportunities and capabilities so it becomes a safe and thriving environment for all of us. There’s a real communal effort to make Web3 more equal and I love being part of that.
One piece of advice for a woman thinking about moving into Web3.
Be bold! Reach out for help and support, and really engage with other women in the space. Your connections and your network will be such a big part of your experience here. It doesn’t have to be scary or overly serious. We work hard but we have a lot of fun too, and you are so welcome to be part of this universe.
