Kaitlin Argeaux is the dynamic CEO of CryptoMondays London, a leading force in the city’s thriving Web3 ecosystem. With a passion for collaboration and innovation, Kaitlin has transformed CryptoMondays London into a hub for industry leaders, developers, and enthusiasts.

Under her leadership, the community thrives on shared knowledge, networking, and a forward-thinking vision for decentralised technology. An advocate for education and inclusivity, Kaitlin is committed to empowering individuals to navigate the Web3 landscape with confidence.

Her expertise has made her a leading voice in shaping blockchain’s future within the global tech community.

How did you get started in the Web3 space?

In 2017 an ex-flatmate contacted me and asked me to provide marketing support to his Decentralised ID start-up protocol. As part of my due diligence I conducted a comprehensive deep dive on all things Web3 and I was blown away by the potential of the technology. A week later I had quit my job and my adventure began.

What was your motivator to found Crypto Mondays London?

While pitching for Decentralised ID in New York, I discovered an ad for the inaugural CryptoMondays meet-up. After speaking with the founders we decided a London event was needed and so on my return CryptoMondays London was formed.

Every city runs their own version of CryptoMondays although if we want to collaborate we can. Here in London I am a great believer in the power of guest speakers to bring added engagement and therefore we always have a roster of interesting and relevant guests lined up.

The definition of ‘Web3’ is quite broad and varies depending on the industry backgrounds of the people you speak to. How do you define the term?

I believe Web3 is a catch all term that applies to everything crypto from Bitcoin to NFTs to the Metaverse. However, to be more specific, if Web1 was the noticeboard era for programmers, Web2 saw mass adoption with users creating their own content. Web3 empowers users to reclaim ownership of their content and data, defining the future of the internet. That said, through the integration of AI technology we are beginning to see even more development on the near horizon.

What do you determine to be the biggest societal opportunities that Web3 brings?

Blockchain technology has huge potential for driving initiatives in society with applications in the fields of agriculture, healthcare and privacy. The fundamental nature of privacy and security continue to make blockchain solutions attractive to a variety of everyday use cases. Privacy is a basic human right, yet we’ve sacrificed much of it in today’s data-driven age. Therefore, it is in this sector where I believe we will see the most development in the Web3 space.

And what do you see as the biggest challenge that the Web3 community faces?

The reputation of blockchain hasn’t been great in the past with incidents such as the collapse of FTX and Terra Luna obvious deterrents. Combined with a lack of general Web3 education, both of these factors have presented obstacles to mass adoption. One of the main reasons I formed CML was to educate and onboard new people. I believe those who want to engage with the technology need some form of basic understanding.

I’m a firm believer in education and the power it provides and so here at CryptoMondays London we are doing everything to create a safe space where we can educate and inform. Since 2018 we have fostered an inclusive and supportive community which values curiosity and inquisitiveness. There are no ‘stupid questions’ where we are concerned. It is our mission to break down the barriers and educate and enlighten people as much as possible.

What are some career highlights in your Web3 journey?

I have always been proud of the community-centric approach which CML has adopted since day one. Watching people come together, learning and discussing the hottest Web3 topics never fails to inspire me. It’s not about awards or money but the way people gather under the banner of curiosity to learn. This is an energy and a dynamic which you cannot replicate. Therefore, when we have a particularly good event it is definitely a highlight for me.

Attending the 2024 Zebu Live conference in London was a personal milestone for me. Seeing our incredible team engage so naturally and enthusiastically with attendees reminded me of the passion behind what we do. I am also immensely proud of the paid work I undertake for Outlier Ventures. This allows me to work alongside some of the brightest minds in Web3.

What’s coming up for you and Crypto Mondays London in 2025?

We have lots coming up and we’ll also be co-producing an event based solely around regulations called “Code is Law.” This will take place in late February. Please follow our Luma calendar or any of our social media platforms to stay up to date.

What inspires you to stay motivated professionally?

Any capital generated from CryptoMondays London is ploughed back into the business in order to expand and reach more people. Alongside watching people come together to learn, I am always trying to better myself. How to better the events, how to offer more, how to bring more and to do more.

Being in service to others is one of the most fulfilling things humans can do. CML is a non-profit organisation and consequently we are all volunteers. Any sponsorship money we receive goes directly toward making the events the best they can be. Monetisation would be nice but ultimately it would make little difference to what we offer. We strive to keep the events intimate and informal and in some small way we improve on every event.

When you’re not working, where would we most likely find you?

I’m always working! If im not working im usually at an event. However, if im not doing either you will find me visiting family and friends on the beach in Tampa, Florida.
